What is Obvious Later?

Free forecasting on the future. Make a private 0 to 100% call on a dated question, then see the crowd. Every call is timestamped.

Obvious Later is a free forecasting site about the future: space missions, fusion, new cures, AI and robotics. You record a private 0 to 100% call on a dated question, and only then see what the crowd thinks. Every call is timestamped, so when the question resolves you have a receipt of what you said and when. Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Obvious Later is built for people who care about getting things right. You pick a question with a real date attached, for example when a certain rocket will reach orbit, whether fusion net energy will be demonstrated by a given year, or which AI capability will ship first. You slide your probability between zero and one hundred percent, keep it private, and submit. Only after you commit does the site show you the crowd distribution, so your view is not pulled by the consensus. The timestamp on every call means you can prove what you believed and when, which matters for calibration and accountability as outcomes arrive.

Use cases include tracking long horizon research bets, studying your own forecasting calibration, teaching probabilistic thinking, and sharing dated questions with a team or a classroom. The site covers space missions, fusion energy, new cures, artificial intelligence, and robotics. It is completely free with no paid tier, and it runs in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
