PomoPals — Focus Together, Grow Together 🍅
PomoPals started with a simple, slightly stubborn problem: I kept doing Pomodoros with my girlfriend, and there was just no good way to actually sync them. We'd try to start our timers at the same time, lose track of whose break was whose, text "ok go!" like it was a race, and generally fumble the one thing that makes the Pomodoro technique so powerful—shared rhythm. Every app out there treated focus as a solo activity. But the magic, the part that kept us both showing up, was doing it together. So I built the thing I wished existed.
PomoPals is a cute, collaborative Pomodoro timer designed for focusing alongside the people you care about. At its heart is a clean, customizable timer—set your work and break durations however you like, then get to it with simple keyboard shortcuts (space to play or pause, number keys to switch tasks, and quick commands to add, complete, or edit what you're working on). It's fast, friendly, and stays out of your way so you can stay in flow.
The part I'm proudest of is Focus with Friends. Create a room, share a link, and your Pomodoros sync in real time—so when one timer starts, everyone's starts. No more "ok go!" No more mismatched breaks. Just the quiet, motivating presence of other people heads-down on their own work right alongside you. It turns out a little accountability and a lot of company makes deep work dramatically easier to sustain. Whether it's a study group, a couple working through their to-do lists, or a team of remote friends keeping each other on track, the shared timer becomes a small ritual you actually look forward to.
Beyond the timer, PomoPals helps you build habits that last. Analytics track your daily progress, completion rates, and focus patterns, so you can see your consistency grow over time. Trophies reward you for showing up and stacking focused sessions—because momentum deserves a little celebration. And Pom's Library offers curated guides on productivity, focus, and mindfulness for when you want to sharpen your approach.
It's built with care, and it's built to feel good to use—warm, playful, and a little bit charming, rather than another sterile productivity tool. PomoPals is for anyone who's ever realized that the hardest part of focusing is doing it alone. So grab a friend, start a room, and let's focus better, together. 🍅
