You will get 8–10 lines at or under 80 characters, plus 3 longer launch one-liners. IndieHunt short titles allow 100 characters.
What this generator is for
A launch tagline is the one line under your product name. It has to say what the product does before someone clicks through. On a directory, that line sits next to the logo. On X, it is often the first sentence of the launch post. The rest of the pitch can wait.
This page does not call an AI API. It rearranges the words you type into sentence templates: the product name, the job it does, and an optional audience. Plain, punchy, and technical change the shape of the line, not the facts. If you leave audience blank, the templates use “indie hackers.”
How long a launch line should be
Short options stay at or under 80 characters. IndieHunt’s short title field allows 100 characters, so you can paste a line and still edit it. The three longer one-liners are full sentences for a launch listing or the opening of an X post. Character counts sit next to each result.
A useful line names the product and the outcome. “Routes customer emails to the right teammate” is specific. “The future of work” is not, and this tool will not invent a claim you did not type. If a template trims a long description, treat that line as a draft and put the missing detail back before you publish.
How to use the results
Generate a set, copy two or three that sound like you, and read them out loud. Keep the one a stranger can understand without your landing page. Then try another tone. Punchy lines are shorter. Technical lines keep the audience in the sentence. You can also ask for another set from the same inputs. The button rotates templates. It does not add new product claims.
When a line is ready, put the short version in your IndieHunt short title and use a longer one-liner in the launch story or the X post. Submit the project when the listing matches the product you actually ship. Premium and free launch options are compared on the pricing page. This tool does not schedule the launch for you.
Launch tagline generator FAQ
Free, in-browser taglines for indie product launches
1Is the launch tagline generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, does not ask you to sign up, and does not call a paid AI API. Type a product name and one sentence about what it does. The page fills sentence templates on your device.
2Does this upload my product description?
No. Generation stays in the browser. The form is not sent to IndieHunt to write copy, and there is no language-model request behind the button.
3How long are the taglines?
Short options are capped at 80 characters. IndieHunt’s short title field allows 100 characters, so a generated line fits with room to edit. The three launch one-liners are longer sentences for a Product Hunt launch, an X post, or a listing description.
4What do plain, punchy, and technical change?
Plain uses a direct name-and-benefit line. Punchy uses shorter separators such as a period or a vertical bar. Technical keeps the audience in the line. Every option is a template built from your words, so edit it before you publish.
5Can I use a line on my IndieHunt submission?
Yes. Copy a short tagline into the short title on the submit form, then pick a Monday launch week. The generator does not submit the project for you. Free and Premium launch details are on the pricing page.
